Job Summary

• The NASW Standards of Social Work Practice in Health Care Settings are exemplified within this Job Description. 
• The social worker provides medical social casework to a wide array of patients, ranging from the newborn to the advanced geriatric patient. 
• The main focus of the social worker is to assist in meeting the psychosocial/continuum of care needs of the patient and family to ensure optimum functioning. 
• In addition to direct care services, the social worker will have duties of consultation, education, policy and program planning, continuous quality improvement, advocacy, and liaison with the community. 
• The MSW is expected to have a larger percentage of macro/indirect functions than the BSW social worker. 
• The MSW is also expected to manage referrals that are significantly high-risk and/or problem prone.

Education and/or Experience

• Graduation from an accredited University with a Master’s Degree in social work.
•  Independent Private Practitioner is desired.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Licensed as a Social Worker in the State of South Dakota required.
• Qualified Mental Health Professional Credential (in South Dakota) preferred.

Work Schedule

• Monday - Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks
  • 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Every 5^th holiday
  • Every 5^th weekend call time

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $26.25 - $39.00 per hour
