Provides crisis intervention and assists families in understanding the implications and complexities of the life situation and its impact on lifestyle. Being a Social Worker (MSW) provides professional social work assistance to clients and families as related to illness, disease, hospitalization, financial and educational needs by utilizing a variety of modalities in all areas of service. Responsibilities also include involvement in the discharge planning process. Additionally, Social Worker (MSW) requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a manager. SALARY: Dependent on experience and qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Resource Family Services (RFS) Specialist assists families in navigating the process to become a foster or adoptive resource to children in the custody of the Department of Social Services. In this position, you will provide training and complete home study assessments for prospective foster and adoptive families. You will be a valuable member of the LSS Resource Family Services Team and work collaboratively with the South Dakota Department of Social Services.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in social work or in a related field, plus one to two years of related experience. Licensed as a Social Worker or Social Work Associate (or the ability to be licensed) through the South Dakota Board of Social Work Examiners. Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must successfully complete all agency background checks. Requires valid driver’s license and ability to obtain approved driver status.
