The primary responsibility is Inventory Accuracy. The individual is responsible for helping Electric Boat meet or exceed the required 95% inventory accuracy level, as required by Government guidelines. The position requires adherence to inventory accuracy expectations, including DFARS MMAS standards and internal procedures. The individual will facilitate achieving this goal by initiating corrective actions with multiple organizations when errors are found. Responsibilities include monthly inventory audits at both the Groton and Quonset Point warehouses based on predetermined stratification logic. Additional audits are also required at Electric Boat offsite warehouse (i.e. Kings Bay, Puget), GFM warehouses, WIP/Buffer warehouses, and supplier virtual warehouses. Upon completion of each audit, the candidate will also be responsible for reconciling inventory variances between the electronic record and what is physically located in inventory and consolidating the findings in a report that is distributed to Finance, Cost Accounting, the manager and directors of Materials Management, and the Customer (i.e. SUPSHIP). Other responsibilities include, processing credits/debits to receive coded stock material purchased by Newport News, maintaining accurate charging of coded stock inventory by reviewing repaired/replaced material, and analyzing the alignment of physical inventories with AMOS quantities and Cost Accounting quantities. Qualitative responsibilities include the analysis of material charging, immediate problem solving, the ability to developing corrective actions and communication skills to work with other departments to implement those corrective actions. Interface with other Demand Planners, Buyers, Material Control, and Planning is done daily.
