This Project Architect role is a full-time position for a degreed architect, licensed or working towards licensure, with 5 or more years of general full-time experience.
The ideal candidate will be inquiring, detail-oriented, and an active listener, with strong English communication skills, and will work collaboratively with all project partners to be an active design participant within an award-winning architecture, engineering, and construction services firm.
Responsibilities include master planning, space programming, and facility planning support, development of design concepts and detailing into a complete set of construction documents, the coordination of components designed by engineers and other consultants, assistance in clarifying the design intent throughout the bidding and negotiation phase, and assistance throughout the construction phase including the approval of submittals and resolving construction conflicts. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate work between our design team and others such as contractors, utility companies, and the authorities having jurisdiction.
This is a hands-on position that will require the ability to create and present design concepts and then subsequently assist with the production of high-quality construction documents as needed for competitive bidding purposes. The role requires on-going project support throughout the bidding and construction phases. Our clients often require us to meet with them outside normal business hours, i.e., evenings and occasionally on weekends. The position may occasionally require travel (many hours in duration) to the client’s location or jobsite, and to spend nights in order to meet their expectations.
Specifics of Your Role
· Assist Senior Managing Architects in all phases of project development.
· Work collaboratively with clients, architectural staff, engineers, and consultants to develop creative design concepts and manage project scope to meet project goals and budgets.
· Provide quality control and assurance of schematic design, design development, and construction document phases.
· Guide project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
· On-site construction administration and site inspection visits to assess the quality of the work.
· Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments.
Required Qualifications
Accredited degree in Architecture with the goal of licensure.
· 5 or more years of relevant experience in architecture, including demonstrated experience on complex projects.
· Proficiency in BIM 360/Revit design platform.
· Solid understanding of a wide range of computer applications used in a professional design office: Microsoft 365 suite of products, Adobe suite, Bluebeam, and familiarity with 3D programs SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, etc.
