Software Architect is responsible for the structural design and development of new software systems or extensive software revisions for external customers. Analyzes software requirements and defines system components to ensure efficient and scalable software architecture. Being a Software Architect designs and implements software solutions to consider business and technical needs and ensures compatibility with existing systems. Creates and maintains architecture documentation such as design specifications and diagrams to guide future maintenance and development. Additionally, Software Architect works with non-technical stakeholders to analyze requirements and understand constraints, dependencies, and business needs. Has in-depth knowledge of software development processes and methodologies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Software Architect work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. To be a Software Architect typically requires 7+ years of related experience. The person we are seeking for is a passionate and experienced software engineer who can work with us to combine the cutting-edge techniques and bring the AutoCAD user experience to next level on mobile Platform. We expect the candidate to have deep knowledge of iOS and Android platform, be mindful of the impact to AutoCAD Mobile customers when developing the product and can work with cross functional and platform teams to deliver high quality product on schedule. Responsibilities Provide technical leadership within the organization by creating and reviewing high-quality architecture designs, providing technical solutions and leading technical discussions. Work closely with product managers, user experience designers, tech leads, etc. to translate business needs and assess opportunities by evaluating technical feasibility and translate it to well-documented engineering solutions Provide strategic advice to leadership team for the technical direction of AutoCAD mobile products Take an active part in the global architect forum by representing Vancouver site, leading cross org initiative and communicating decisions and action-items to the relevant people Ensure the solution implementations achieve the desired quality attributes, such as performance and optimization, scalability, extensibility, security, and resiliency Be a role model for applying software development best practices Deep understanding of the business domain both technically and product wise. Understanding the challenges, customers pain points and needs and the competitor landscape Escort the dev teams during implementation. Providing support and help as needed Mentor the tech leads and senior developers Take an active part in shaping and implementing our engineering excellence Initiate plans and solutions that will push the organization forward and take us to the next step in achieving our goals Put efforts in creating broad consensus, resolving conflicts and maintaining an effective, healthy and pleasant workspace environment Minimum Qualifications B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 10 years hands-on experience with iOS and Android or relevant software development technologies and frameworks Broad knowledge and proven experience in software architecture Demonstration of high levels of ownership and accountability Experience of designing and implementing complex cross-platform software architecture Deep knowledge and experience in AWS infrastructure, services and tools A deep familiarity with Objective-C, Swift, Java and Kotlin Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies Great interpersonal skills and communication skills.
