Software Architect is responsible for the structural design and development of new software systems or extensive software revisions for external customers. Analyzes software requirements and defines system components to ensure efficient and scalable software architecture. Being a Software Architect designs and implements software solutions to consider business and technical needs and ensures compatibility with existing systems. Creates and maintains architecture documentation such as design specifications and diagrams to guide future maintenance and development. Additionally, Software Architect works with non-technical stakeholders to analyze requirements and understand constraints, dependencies, and business needs. Has in-depth knowledge of software development processes and methodologies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Software Architect work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. To be a Software Architect typically requires 7+ years of related experience.     • Prepare original architectural design layouts, details, drawings, and specifications for buildings.
    • Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of the architectural work.
    • Understand and perform the standard architectural work planning, scheduling, and job hour estimating process.
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
    • Review and check the work of other architects as assigned.
    • Supervise, coordinate, provide technical direction, and assign work to subordinate architects and designers.
    • Coordinate and integrate design work between the architectural discipline and other engineering disciplines.
    • Review and approve key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders.
    • Prepare procurement and subcontract requisition documents and perform associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations.
    • Prepare or assist in the preparation of cost estimates and quantity take-offs for architectural elements.
    • Resolve technical issues with customers and construction.
    • Participate in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and job satisfaction.
    • Embody a commitment to external and internal client service.

    • Experience with architectural design, production techniques, building materials, and construction methods or development of project deliverables.
    • Knowledge of technical issues and costs related to the selection of design features and unique architectural requirements.
    • Proficient with the practices and procedures of NFPA, OSHA, ANSI, IBC, and UFCs.
    • Ability to perform code reviews and generate code compliance reports and/or drawings.
    • Experience with oral and written communication.
    • Ability to communicate complex technical issues and recommends solutions.
    • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills.
    • Knowledge of engineering planning and control methods.
    • Experience with producing a full, well-coordinated, detailed set of architectural construction documents.
    • Experience with coordinating a multi-discipline design team.
    • Proficient with Autodesk design suite (e.g. Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD) to originate 3D model content and produce design deliverables in a multidisciplinary model environment.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Sketchup.
    • Experience and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite- Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
    • Registered Architect in the United States
    • High School diploma or equivalent and 15 or more years of experience, or Bachelor's degree in Architecture and 9 or more years of experience.

    • High School diploma or equivalent and 19 or more years of experience, or Bachelor's degree in Architecture and 13 or more years of experience.
