  • Purpose

    Embark on an exciting journey as an IT Development Intern with our dynamic aircraft completions business. This internship offers a unique opportunity to dive into the world of software development within a .NET environment, utilizing state-of-the-art DevOps practices and cloud solutions like Azure. You'll gain hands-on experience in full-stack development, collaborate closely with business stakeholders, and contribute to projects that integrate real-time data with our ERP systems. This role is designed not only to enhance your technical skills but also to deepen your understanding of business logic and financial terms in a real-world context. By the end of your internship, you will have developed, tested, and presented your projects to our leadership team, gaining invaluable insights and professional exposure in the field of IT development.

     

    Essential Job Functions

    • Assist in the design, development, and testing of ASP.NET and .NET Core applications according to the business requirements.
    • Work on integrating existing systems with newer applications, particularly focusing on ERP system integrations and real-time data feeds.
    • Participate in ongoing DevOps processes including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) using Azure DevOps.
    • Actively participate in agile development cycles, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
    • Assist in developing test cases and perform testing to ensure applications meet quality standards.
    • Document code consistently throughout the development process by listing a description of the program, special instructions, and any changes made in database tables on procedural, modular and database level.
    • Prepare and present project updates and final developments to the leadership team at the end of the internship.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED

    • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with a focus on software development.
    • High school diploma or equivalent. 
    • Proficient in oral and written English. 

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    There are no supervisory responsibilities in this role. 

     

    Reporting Relationship

    This position reports to the IT Director. 

     

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Attributes 

    • Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably C#/.NET
    • Familiarity with software development tools and version control systems
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail 
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with team members and users.
    • Capable of adapting to a fast-paced working environment and learning new technologies or procedures quickly.
    • Ability to work effectively within a team, learning from and contributing to team objectives.
    • Experience with agile development methodologies
    • Knowledge of database concepts and data structures
    • Familiarity with cloud-based technologies
    • Participation in open-source projects or personal coding projects

     

    Travel 

    There is no travel expected in this role.

    • Exposure to climate changes is normally experienced in an aviation repair facility.
