As an Engineering Manager at MIM Software, you will lead a team of creative, passionate software engineers within the medical industry.  Engineers on the team may work with different technologies and on different projects within our ecosystem of interconnected products. The Engineering Manager supports team members in their success and sees to the production of quality software. The Engineering Manager may build software as well, depending on the size of the team, but the first responsibility of the role is always to the team's progress.

• Help team members of all skill levels grow professionally by conducting regular one-on-one meetings, conveying regular feedback, setting and following up on growth objectives, providing challenging assignments, and delivering yearly performance reviews
• Ensure team productivity by communicating team priorities, verifying that work is appropriately distributed within the team, seeking feedback from others, and measuring results
• Ensure team members have a deep understanding of customer needs and requirements, relevant technologies, and company direction
• Coordinate and connect with other teams, departments, and company leadership to report and make progress, identify future maintenance needs for the software, and plan resources for future projects
• Regularly review team member projects and technical work to identify and resolve functionality gaps and misalignments between project work and product plans
• Use project management principles to adhere to timelines of software releases and innovate paths around roadblocks
• Manage team members and work with peers by showing mutual respect, listening deeply, focusing on problem-solving instead of blaming, setting clear expectations, and supporting each others' successes
• Ensure the team follows Quality and Regulatory procedures, including appropriate testing and documentation requirements

• 4 plus years of management experience in a software team
• Past experience with software development as an individual contributor
• Past medical device industry experience is preferred but not required
• Bachelor's degree or higher from a 4 year accredited university is preferred
• Experience in mentoring or coaching a team
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to foster an environment of innovative thinking for complex projects
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong organizational and time management capabilities
• Willingness to put the needs of the team first
