RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise.  We are seeking a growth-oriented candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team.  The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and development facility.

Software/Firmware Developer

Software/Firmware Developer will work with a team in the development of new products and enhancements to existing products through innovative software and firmware solutions, focusing on edge device technologies. 

Responsibilities: 

• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain features and services on edge devices. 
• Utilize AI tools and techniques to enhance product functionality and performance. 
• Contribute to the development of a modern streaming ecosystem and understand the functionalities of Content Delivery Networks (CDNs). 
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product designers, software engineers, and hardware engineers, to achieve project goals. 
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality deliverables. 

Requirements: 

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in software and firmware development. 
• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 
• A graduate degree in a relevant field is a plus. 
• Strong commitment to quality work, coupled with a positive attitude. 

Desired Skills: 

• Proficiency in C and familiarity with Python. 
• Knowledge in the areas of artificial intelligence, automation, video overlays, and deployment strategies. 
• Experience with using AI tools to enhance product capabilities. 
• Experience in evaluating various architectural approaches, design patterns, and solutions. 
• Experience using testing frameworks (e.g., gMock, gTest). 
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
