    The Quality Assurance Engineer is a key member of the AGILE development team. This individual will work closely with our QA Lead, Software Engineers, Product Managers, and other staff to ensure that business requirements are fully tested before release. This role will have the additional responsibility of overseeing projects assigned to the QA department.

    The preferred location for this role is San Diego, CA. However, remote applications within the United States will be considered. Local candidates will work a minimum of one day in the office per week. 


    Primary Job Responsibilities


    • Verify functionality delivered meets the specification
    • Verify quality acceptance criteria of thick-client and web-based applications across multi-platform environments
    • Apply QA principles and methodology to develop test cases and detailed test scenarios and oversee their execution and tracking
    • Work closely with developers to resolve issues and characterize issues found for reproducibility
    • Verify bug fixes by developers
    • Manage and provide transparency on backlog of reported issues and provides recommendation for resolution to Product Managers and AGILE team members
    • Generates SQL queries to pull system data required for testing various features prior to release to production
    • Assist QA Lead/Manager in developing schedules and procedures.
    • Write and review test case
    • Write and update procedures
    • Automate test cases
    • Work with Customers to resolve or define reported issues
    • Review documentation (Customer-facing and internal documentation)


    Desired Qualifications/Skills


    • Ability to write, maintain and verify test cases
    • Develop test matrixes, identify test data and use case requirements
    • Familiarity with issue tracking systems (Bugzilla, QC, TFS)
    • Working knowledge of MS office Word & Excel, reports, pivot charts
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
    • Must be a highly motivated self-starter, have excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
    • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to be effective at all levels of the organization
    • Must be able to express ideas logically, clearly and concisely


    Requirements


    • 1-8 years of experience in direct QA or Support experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in CIS, Business Administration or related areas, preferred (experience may be substituted for education)
    • SQL querying experience
    • MS SQL Server Administration a plus
    • Prior AGILE experience a plus
    • Software development and SQL database management experience strongly preferred


    Physical Requirements:


    • Ability to sit at a desk, computer terminal or meeting table for a long period of time
    • Ability to use hands and fingers or adoptive equipment to safely operate assigned equipment
    • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
    • Ability to effectively communicate with end users and coworker
    • Ability to use telephone frequently for a long period of time, and to hear and speak clearly by telephone

    Pay: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
