Being a Soil Conservationist applies a wide range concepts, practices, and procedures from two or more specialized fields of science, such as agronomy, soil science, forestry, or agriculture. May require a bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of work experience. Additionally, Soil Conservationist may direct the work of a small group of employees. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.     Pay Type: Salary, bi-weekly.

    Work Setting: In-Office.

    Work Location: 1401 Landmark Drive, Cottage Grove, WI 53527.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

    Agriculture Environment Conservationist Essential Responsibilities:

    As an Agriculture Environment Conservationist, you will work across ALCIVIA Business Units to deliver conservation and sustainability programs and processes to landowners and farmers across Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, Eastern Minnesota, and Northeast Iowa. The deliverables will include increased participation in programs and projects that result in increased production, profitability, natural resource preservation, and carbon sequestration.

    • Serve as the conservation and agronomy technical expert delivering on conservation programs designed to result in improved natural resource preservation and reduced environmental impact while resulting in stable production and improved profitability at the farmgate.
    • Identify prospective customers who can benefit from assigned and developed programs. Work through the education and sales process to convert prospective customers to customers where they benefit from the programs that ALCIVIA has to offer.
    • Build relationships and coordinate projects with other project sponsors and a variety of influencers to the ag retail territory such as farmers, landowners, local ag retail staff, Certified Crop Advisors, USDA Service Center personnel, farm management organizations, local partners, and commodity organizations.
    • Active driver and participant in ALCIVIA customer roundtables and events that transfer knowledge to the ALCIVIA customer base.
    • Write and contribute to writing grants through a variety of agencies and stockholders.
    • Keep up to date records and stay ahead of all deadlines for programs related to projects in the space and for customers who are in the programs.
    • Uphold and set an example of ALCIVIA Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
    • All other duties as assigned.


    Requirements

    Agriculture Environment Conservationist Required Skills & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Environmental Science, or closely related field.
    • Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
    • Ability to learn and apply information efficiently and quickly in a rapidly changing business space.
    • Possess a curiosity to learn and develop sales skills and product knowledge.
    • Ability and curiosity to complete Foundations of Applied Agronomy Training.
    • Use of Salesforce and Advanced Business Intelligence Software.
    • Strong computer and technology skills.
