Being a Soil Scientist may require a bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of work experience. May direct the work of a small group of employees. Additionally, Soil Scientist relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to a senior manager and may be considered the lead for a specific area or unit. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Technician to join our team. As a Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to hand tools, GIS, tree trimming, supervising, groundskeeping, landscape maintenance, ecological restoration, data collection, heavy lifting, and commercial driving. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our organization's success and make a positive impact on the environment.
Duties:
- Utilize hand tools and equipment to perform various tasks related to tree trimming, groundskeeping, and landscape maintenance
- Supervise and coordinate work crews during projects
- Conduct ecological restoration activities such as planting native species
- Collect data and maintain accurate records of work performed
- Operate commercial vehicles for transportation of equipment and materials
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols at all times
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Proficiency in using hand tools and equipment
- Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information System) software is a plus
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
