Applies a wide range concepts, practices, and procedures from two or more specialized fields of science, such as agronomy, soil science, forestry, or agriculture. Being a Soil Scientist may require a bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of work experience. May direct the work of a small group of employees. Additionally, Soil Scientist relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to a senior manager and may be considered the lead for a specific area or unit. The Medical Laboratory Scientist precisely and accurately performs and results laboratory procedures using established quality assurance protocols. This position assists in the collection of laboratory specimens, performs instrument maintenance and record keeping and acts as a resource person for issues of laboratory services. The Medical Laboratory Scientist has access to confidential patient information and direct patient care. This position does not have access to funds.
