Soil Scientist jobs in Las Vegas, NV

Soil Scientist studies, investigates, and conducts experiments on different soil/plant types to determine use capabilities of soils, and effects of alternative practices on soil productivity. Applies a wide range concepts, practices, and procedures from two or more specialized fields of science, such as agronomy, soil science, forestry, or agriculture. Being a Soil Scientist may require a bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of work experience. May direct the work of a small group of employees. Additionally, Soil Scientist relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to a senior manager and may be considered the lead for a specific area or unit.     Education: Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred, not required. Current ICC Special Inspection and related certifications required.

    Required Skills: The successful candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with drop box and laptop reporting, ability to learn or already know/understand Clark County reporting requirements along with surrounding jurisdictions, 3 years of experience working in the materials testing and inspection industry, a positive attitude, good organizational skills and a strong work ethic. Candidate may be subject to a background check and drug screen test. Must have current valid driver's license and a good driving record.
