Soil Scientist jobs in Winston Salem, NC

Soil Scientist studies, investigates, and conducts experiments on different soil/plant types to determine use capabilities of soils, and effects of alternative practices on soil productivity. Applies a wide range concepts, practices, and procedures from two or more specialized fields of science, such as agronomy, soil science, forestry, or agriculture. Being a Soil Scientist may require a bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of work experience. May direct the work of a small group of employees. Additionally, Soil Scientist relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to a senior manager and may be considered the lead for a specific area or unit.     WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

    • Determine quantities and details for product to be included in scientific studies supporting heated product regulatory submissions
    • Manage project timelines for product builds and scientific studies, ensuring product is supplied to the studies according to agreed upon timelines
    • Manage product inventory, shipping, and documentation for product builds supporting heated product submissions
    • Manage the tracking of all heated product regulatory submissions, including regular status updates
    • Support the development and execution of scientific studies for heated product regulatory submissions
    • Support the development of product applications for submission to regulatory agencies (e.g., FDA), including Premarket Tobacco Product Applications, Modified Risk Tobacco Product Applications, and any associated amendments or deficiency responses
    • Support the development and refinement of life science narratives for regulatory submissions
    • Establish and maintain cross-functional relationships with multidisciplinary stakeholders (e.g., Global Life Sciences, Product Deploy, Legal and External Affairs)

    ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    • BS in chemistry, biology, health sciences, engineering, technical writing, or related field
    • Experienced with scientific and technical writing
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Good project management skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with other functions within the company
    • Self-motivated and works with a sense of urgency
    • Ability to manage and execute multiple projects under heightened time constraints
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
