Sous Chef - Casino manages the operations of the kitchen in absence of and in assistance with the Executive Sous Chef. Oversees the preparation of food and inventory levels of the kitchen. Being a Sous Chef - Casino may be responsible for scheduling and training of employees. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Sous Chef - Casino typically reports to an executive sous chef. The Sous Chef - Casino supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. General: Must be age 21 or older. Must qualify for Tribal Non-Gaming License.
Education: High School diploma or GED preferred but not required. Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program is desirable. Must be able to communicate in the primary language used in the workplace.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years in food preparation and demonstrated supervisory skills.
Physical: Must be able to stand and exert well paced mobility for periods up to four (4) hours in length. Must have the ability to lift pots, pans, and other items up to 50 pounds in weight. Requires normal vision, including color acuity and depth perception, reaching, bending, stooping, grasping, finger dexterity, and hand/eye coordination. Must be able to perform safely and effectively in conditions of wet floors and temperature extremes.
