Additionally, Sous Chef complies with all safety and food sanitation laws and regulations. Supervises, trains, and mentors staff. May require an associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent. Typically reports to an executive chef. The Sous Chef supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Sous Chef typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Strong kitchen and dining room experience with attention to the details of our authentic Italian cuisine, recipes and execution is required.
1 years prior experience as a Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager or Supervisor required.
Daily responsibilities include:
* Food preparation and service for all meal periods
* Recipe adherence with special attention to timely preparation and plate presentation
* Training and supervising kitchen staff
* Adhering to food and facility safety requirements including all COVID protocol
* Ensuring that quality and cost standards are consistently obtained
* Completing kitchen administrative and human resource duties

The Sous Chef should have a positive attitude and be able to communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully. Experience in a full service fine dining upscale restaurant is a plus.
Must have a flexible schedule and able to work varied shifts including weekends.
