The Over/Under Bar & Grill in Saint Louis, MO is looking for one sous chef to join our 57 person strong team. We are located on 911 Washington Ave. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, hard-working with the ability to effectively supervise all back of the house staff in absence of Executive Chef.

Responsibilities

• Manage all activities in the kitchen, including food preparation and production, and management and training of kitchen staff
• Ensuring the efficient flow of orders from the waiters to the kitchen
• Ensure that food products, presentation, and plating are of the highest quality, and are prepared to serve in a timely manner
• Assisting in the final preparation of dishes
• Anticipate ingredient needs and arrange re-stock accordingly
• Ensure a productive kitchen flow that upholds business standards
• Assisting with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering

Qualifications

• Experience working as a sous chef or chef, Minimum 2 years experience
• High familiarity with kitchen equipment, processes, and health and safety guidelines
• Able to delegate tasks effectively and assist when needed
• Adaptable to high traffic and kitchen volume
• Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room employees, and guests.
• Safe Food Handling Certification
• Ability to bend, stand, and stoop for long periods of time, and working long hours in hot conditions
