- Write Preventive Maintenance (PM) Agreements, manage renewal of PM agreements, and price new PM agreements.
- Confirm customer documentation is fully completed by the Service Technician and check the customer log within the Service systems to ensure follow-up steps are identified. Communicate with customers as needed for additional services.
- Follow up on Preventive Maintenance work and quote repairs for additional services with existing customers.
- Write proposals and estimate costs for small projects using information gathered by Sales. Reconcile pricing after the work is completed.
- After new work is secured, responsible to stage projects by ordering materials, issuing Purchase Orders, confirming receipt of materials, working with Project Managers and Customer to schedule work, facilitate pulling and closing out permits, obtain certificates of insurance as needed, and validating with the team that each phase of work is complete.
- Evaluate and assess customer service levels across Vermont Mechanical; suggest improvements to management as part of ongoing quality improvement efforts.
- Use technical expertise to answer demand service issues or technical customer questions and support the Service Dispatcher with assigning technicians for in field repairs.
- Work with the Service Dispatcher and Construction Scheduling Coordinator to schedule work and resolve conflicts.
- Utilize scheduling and dispatch software and follow standard department processes. Back up others in the department as needed to manage day-to-day operations.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of Service Technician experience with providing commercial HVAC repairs to large customers. Types of certifications and/or licenses preferred include: natural gas, propane gas, heating oil, backflow preventer, universal refrigerant, and type S electrical.
- Ability to learn Microsoft Office and computer -systems used by the Service Department.
- Able to be organized, detailed focused, set priorities, multitask, and execute tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure; can handle considerable stress.
- Able to travel to job sites for site walk throughs using personal vehicle.
- Valid driver’s license required and able to travel to VT, NY, NH, and Canada.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Some repetitive motion required (i.e. – use of keyboard).
- Must be able to navigate an active construction site and be able to wear the necessary personal protective equipment as required by the project.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds and climb ladders on an occasional basis.
- The typical work environment is a combination of office and construction site settings.
