POSITION OVERVIEW : The LTR (Load Temperature Ripening) Coordinator will initiate the ripening process on Chiquita’s LTRs.

The LTR Coordinator must have a clear understanding of the LTR process, and know how to get the target fruit color to the customer’s facility.

The candidate must also have knowledge of monitoring the O2 / CO2 parameters of containers and experience in equipment maintenance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES :

• Initiate the ripening process. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Manage ethylene inventory
• Meet with and exchange information with Chiquita’s vessels LTR Coordinators
• Monitor and adjust O2 / CO2 as well as other ripening parameters

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

• High School graduate or GED
• Physically able to climb a ladder (the height of a container to close vents).
• Must be able to lift and move about 50 lbs.
• Detail oriented
• Multi-tasking capabilities
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Computer literate
• Microsoft Excel knowledge a plus
• Strong communication skills

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT :

• The incumbent must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions unsupervised.
• The incumbent needs to be able to make necessary process adjustments based on data (readings) and customers’ requirements.
• The incumbent also needs to be able to move equipment around a 30-acre yard and initiate (start) the ripening process on 20 50 containers daily.
• Rotating weekend work as needed.
