Special Education Teacher jobs in Bridgeport, CT
Special Education Teacher instructs special education students in a classroom setting. Prepares lesson plans and instructional materials designed to meet the needs of individual students. Being a Special Education Teacher develops individualized education plans, and evaluates and monitors students' performance. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. Additionally, Special Education Teacher may provide behavioral consultation or implement therapeutic programs for students. May mentor teaching aides. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require state-specific special education teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Special Education Teacher occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Requirements:- Bachelor's degree (Required)
- CT Certification in Special Education
- Minimum 1 Year Relevant School-Based Experience
- Will Accept a Substitute with Bachelor's Degree, 1 Year Experience with Students in content area. Must have experience teaching, creating lesson plans, and managing a classroom.
Benefits:- Fully Licensed Teacher - $37.00-40.00 Per hour
- Sub - Non Licensed Teacher - $30.00 - 33.00 Per hour
- Benefits package including medical, dental, vision and 401(k) for employees working over 30 hours a week
