Being a Special Education Teacher develops individualized education plans, and evaluates and monitors students' performance. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. Additionally, Special Education Teacher may provide behavioral consultation or implement therapeutic programs for students. May mentor teaching aides. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require state-specific special education teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Special Education Teacher occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     What you’ll do:

    The Director of Special Education works as a staff member of the Education Department team. Primarily responsible for Special Education Compliance and Services across the organization. The Director of Special Education reports to the National Director of Education. Typical schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Schedule may vary or be adjusted due to business demand or unforeseen circumstances. Occasional evenings and/or weekends may be required for special events or project completion. Travel may be required for this position.


    To be considered, you should:

    • MA required along with Certification and experience in Special Education.
    • Certification in Administration and Supervision or Educational Leadership.
    • Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience.
    • Minimum of three (3) years in special education.
    • Experience and knowledge of Special Education Law (IDEA).
    • Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
