Job Description:

Wittenberg University is accepting applications for a Director of Facilities and Events. This individual will report to the Vice President and Director of Athletics & Recreation and will assist in leading aspects of an NCAA Division III athletic program in the areas of facilities, events, and operations for all aspects of Wittenberg's Athletic Department. This is a full-time, exempt-level position.

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

• Manage the operation, scheduling, and maintenance of Wittenberg's athletic facilities: HWA (including Pam Evans Smith Arena, Rosencrans Fitness Center,Natatorium, Wes Bates Strength Center, 1929 Fieldhouse, David B. and Georgiana S. Albright Tennis Complex, Wittenberg Stadium, Bill Edwards Field, Betty Doughman Dillahunt Softball Field, and Carleton Davidson Stadium
• Hire, train, manage, and schedule all student employees working in the facilities and at events
• Oversee the cleaning, maintenance schedule, work orders, and equipment installation for the Athletic facilities in conjunction with Wittenberg's Physical Plant staff and cleaning contractor (Alpha & Omega)
• Maintain and update a facility manual, athletic visitor guide, and serve as host for internal and external guests such as: visiting teams, officials, NCAC and NCAA Championships, summer camps, and guests to athletic and University events.
• Serve as game day administrator for Varsity Athletic contests, practices and intramural activities on nights and weekends. Primary sport coverage will include Football, Men's Basketball, Men's & Women's Women's Volleyball, Track & Field (Indoor & Out), Men's & Women's Lacrosse, Men's & Women's Soccer and Softball
• Market, collect, and deposit all alumni, community, and staff membership fees for the Athletic Facilities.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Two - four years of relevant working experience in athletic operations and compliance.
• Experience working with web-based event scheduling platforms.
• Candidates must possess excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to interact effectively and appropriately with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, peers, community members, and administrators
• Candidates possess the skills to evaluate prospects, maintain and ensure student-athlete academic integrity, demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Wittenberg University and Division III, and to comply with NCAA, North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), and University rules and regulations.
• Preferred knowledge in database management.
• Must have familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.).
• Supervisory experience is required.
• Knowledge and experience of NCAA Division III athletics preferred.
• Some evening and weekend work is required.
• Some travel is required.
• Frequently transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds (with assistance) for various event and activity needs.
• Frequently utilizes computer for extended periods (up to 50% of the work day).
• A valid driver's license is required; must meet required insurance qualifications found in Wittenberg Motor Pool policies and procedures. If license is from out of state, successful candidate will need to obtain a valid Ohio driver's license within 30 days of hire date.
