Summary of Duties 

Stagehands work closely with sound technicians, lighting technicians, and tour production crews to perform a wide variety of general labor and event production tasks. These events include, but are not limited to concerts, sporting events, trade shows, events, meetings, and hosted parties. Duties often vary based on the size and type of production.

 To be successful as a Buffalo Run Stagehand, you should enjoy working with your hands and be prepared to learn new skills with each event. Outstanding candidates are self-starters with a can-do attitude who demonstrate excellent attention to detail and collaborate well in a team environment.

Position Description

· Loading and unloading performance equipment

· Assembly and disassembly of stages, set pieces, and risers

· Assembly and disassembly of production equipment on stage

· Assisting the performance act and sound/lighting contractors as required

· Operation of follow spotlight under supervision of lighting director

· Setup and strike of sound, lighting, video, and facility equipment in accordance with performance act and tour requirements

· Performing a variety of backstage and front of house maintenance tasks. i.e Setting up tables and chairs as needed.

· Strike, stow, and load out equipment. 

· Maintaining a pristine work environment for our entertainment provider and our guests

Requirements

  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

• Demonstratable knowledge of live event production
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Willingness to work long hours and/or split shifts on event      days
• Ability to focus under pressure, listen, and follow      instructions
• Able to meet Minimum Physical Requirements:
  • Safely lift up to 100 pounds on a regular basis
  • Perform team lifting for objects greater than 100 pounds
  • Occasionally work longer than 8 hours
  • Tolerate extremes in temperature and weather conditions
  • Climb stairs as well as fixed and portable ladders
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, and maneuver in areas with       limited space
  • Move heavy objects up and down ramps
  • Reach overhead and perform tasks that require fine motor       skills
  • Climb on to or down from elevated work surfaces
  • Excellent grip with full range of motion of       the upper extremities

Education/Qualifications 

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· At least 18 years of age

· Experience with carpentry, stage rigging, lighting, sound, or other technical aspects of live events preferred
