Job Purpose:
The Special Events Manager is responsible for every aspect of event planning. Working with companies to confirm manpower needed and keep track of event hours.
Job Duties:
· Plan, coordinate, and execute traffic management strategies for special events, ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic.
· Collaborate with event organizers, local authorities, and relevant staff to understand traffic requirements and design effective solutions.
· Keep track of schedule for Special Events, scheduled jobs, daily orders.
· Review calendar for scheduled deliveries, confirm with Warehouse Manager that all tickets have been completed and orders are ready to go.
· Review the open balance for all customers, review with accounts receivable and update VP of Client Success.
· Verify with VP of Operations the labor/flaggers that need to be ordered for events & coordinate with Frontdesk/dispatcher.
· Develop comprehensive traffic management plans tailored to each event, considering factors such as crowd size, venue layout, and local regulations.
· Liaise with law enforcement, transportation agencies, and emergency services to coordinate resources and optimize traffic control measures.
· Implement and supervise traffic control personnel during events, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and efficient traffic flow.
· Conduct pre-event site inspections to identify potential challenges and develop contingency plans for unforeseen circumstances.
· Review equipment tracking on board is being done correctly.
· Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors and venues.
· Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to traffic management for continuous improvement.
· Provide clear communication to event organizers, attendees, and staff regarding traffic management plans and any necessary adjustments.
· Collaborate with internal teams to analyze post-event data, identify areas for improvement, and enhance future traffic management strategies.
· Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to traffic management activities for each event.
Job Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in traffic management, transportation planning, or a related field.
· Proven experience in coordinating traffic management for special events, preferably in the maintenance of traffic industry.
· Excellent verbal and written communication.
· In-depth knowledge of traffic control devices, regulations, and safety standards.
· Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
· Familiarity with traffic management software and tools.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate event schedules.
Physical Requirements/ Work Environment:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
· Requires lifting and carrying of up to 25lb or more.
· Requires using hands to handle, control or lift objects with a strong grip
