Special Investigations Unit Director oversees the operations for conducting thorough investigations. Develops the strategies for the cross-functional detection and elimination of fraudulent behavior. Being a Special Investigations Unit Director prepares investigative reports and analyses that pertinent to evidence obtained during investigations. May coordinate with outside sources such as law enforcement agencies, and external audit, etc. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Special Investigations Unit Director typically reports to top management. The Special Investigations Unit Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Special Investigations Unit Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. A Camp BREC Special Facility Director works at a designated Special Facility such as Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, Highland Rd. Observatory, or Independence Park Theater, among others, developing, promoting and operating summer day camp, coordinating group activities, training and supervising staff, actively participates in daily events, completing related paperwork.SPECIAL FACILITY SUMMER CAMPS OFFERED

• TennisEducation Required: Bachelor Degree in Recreation or closely related field (Physical Education, Elementary Education); Three (3) years camp experience may be substituted for educational requirements, Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Other: Ability to plan and organize all aspects of day camp management; Knowledge of objectives and philosophy of day camp; Ability to work with campers, staff, parents, and general public; ability to motivate and encourage cooperation and teamwork; Ability to swim; Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.NOTE: A Camp Counselor has a wide range of responsibilities, and some camps require special expertise such as:- BREC Zoo Camp - Biology/Zoology/Wildlife Management/Pre-Vet;
- Farr Park Equestrian Center Horse Lover's Camp - Considerable horseback riding experience;
- Magnolia Mound History Camp - History/Anthropology/Archeology;
Typical duties of a Camp Director include, but are not limited to:- Scheduling, supervising, training, and evaluating camp personnel-professional staff and seasonal leaders.
- Relating programs and policies of the camp.
- Active supervision of campers.
- Keeping accurate financial, personnel and program records.
- Promoting, organizing and stimulating good relationships with the neighborhood activity interest groups and others from the area.
- Interpreting and communicating the nature of the camping program and its recreation philosophy to individuals through personal activity and assignments.
- Directing major camp events and programs, demonstrating leadership techniques required for coordinated events.
- Organizing weekly schedule of events; preparing 2-week program budget.

11 weeks - May 27, 2023 to August 9, 2023
Training Week: May 27 -May 31
Summer Camp Timeframe: June 3 - August 9Seasonal position, as scheduled for day camp sessions, within general framework of 8 hours per day, 5 days per week; meal break as needed.Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of a completed application.
