Special Investigations Unit Director oversees the operations for conducting thorough investigations. Develops the strategies for the cross-functional detection and elimination of fraudulent behavior. Being a Special Investigations Unit Director prepares investigative reports and analyses that pertinent to evidence obtained during investigations. May coordinate with outside sources such as law enforcement agencies, and external audit, etc. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Special Investigations Unit Director typically reports to top management. The Special Investigations Unit Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Special Investigations Unit Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

     

    This is an Addendum to the Special Education Teacher Job Description specific to this teacher position.  The general Teacher Job Description also applies to this teaching position except to the extent the information set forth in this Addendum is directly contrary to the general Teacher Job Description. This Addendum is in addition to and supplements both the Master Teacher Job Description and Special Education Employee Job Description.

     

    Additional Education, Certification or Licensure Requirements:

    Endorsement: Early Childhood Inclusive Endorsement appropriate for the instructional responsibility assigned to the teacher (grade level and disability) as required by NDE Rules 24 and 51, in additional to all other required or assigned certification and training. 

     

    Additional Performance Responsibilities and Job Tasks:  

    1. Implement appropriate diagnostic procedures to determine special education eligibility in accordance with Nebraska Rule 51 and Rule 52 criteria.
    2. Accept referrals and schedule evaluations within a reasonable period of time.
    3. Stay informed of and complete state reporting for Teaching Strategies GOLD/Results Matter.
    4. Communicate with district personnel, Early Development Network, related service providers and outside agencies regarding referrals, evaluation progress, and child/family goals and needs, as appropriate.
    5. Provide services to children and families during flexible times at flexible settings, including homes and other agreed-upon environments.
    6. Provide continuous service for birth to age 3 population and preschool children who qualify for extended school year services.
    7. Engage in evidence-based intervention practices for early intervention.
    8. Work with children and families within activities of daily living, functional living skills, and other routines-based activities.
    9. Complete required special education paperwork from the referral process through multidisciplinary team meetings.
    10. Provide progress reports for students on a schedule as dictated by individual student/family plans
    11. Write comprehensive diagnostic report for completed evaluations.
    12. Lead routines-based interviews and incorporates gathered information into child- and family-based goals as appropriate.
    13. Seek out and participate in staff development activities to maintain and improve professional skills.
    14. Manage caseloads including:
      • Preparing, scheduling and conducting IEPs, IFSPs, and MDT’s on or before anniversary date
      • Adding, changing, and updating student and parent information in SRS
      • Adding, changing, and updating team members in SRS
    15. Attend regularly scheduled and other announced special education meetings.
    16. Assist the contracting school district and ESU 13 in providing the Nebraska Department of Education with required forms and reports
