Special Investigations Unit Director oversees the operations for conducting thorough investigations. Develops the strategies for the cross-functional detection and elimination of fraudulent behavior. Being a Special Investigations Unit Director prepares investigative reports and analyses that pertinent to evidence obtained during investigations. May coordinate with outside sources such as law enforcement agencies, and external audit, etc. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Special Investigations Unit Director typically reports to top management. The Special Investigations Unit Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Special Investigations Unit Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     This job can lead to a foot in the door to the investigations/security/law enforcement fields such as:

    • FBI / Law Enforcement
    • ATF / US Border Patrol / State Crime Lab
    • Law / Paralegal / Legal Assistant
    • Security / Corporate Investigations
    • Investigative Journalism

    What a day in the life of an investigator looks like:

    • Monitoring, following, and videotaping subjects as they conduct their day-to-day activities
    • Vehicle and foot pursuit of subjects while maintaining cover
    • Activity vary from filming someone at a grocery store to filming them at a professional football game
    • Detailed report writing on the activities observed/recorded and submission of video evidence
    • Regular communication with team leader on setup positions, activity, and tactics

    What you’ll need to apply:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Must be 21 years or older
    • Willingness to travel and stay overnight up to 2-3 times per week or as needed
    • Availability to work any day of the week. *Please do not apply if you cannot work Saturday AND Sunday.*
    • Availability to work Holidays except Christmas & Thanksgiving
    • Ability to start work as early as 5:00 am daily with occasional work into the evenings
    • Must currently live within 45 minutes of Charlotte
    • Ability to pass DMV check & background check
    • Confident driving skills and 1 years of driving experience
    • No PI license required - we cover the licensure cost and guide you through the process

    Compensation/benefits:

    • Entry-Level Pay: $17.00 per hour
    • Surveillance Vehicle to use to/from/during cases with fuel & maintenance card
    • Company-provided equipment: Laptop, Video Camera, Tripod
    • Cellphone stipend
