Responsibilities: As a Technical Writer Specialist within the Information Systems & Services (IS&S) Cyber Security Organization, you will play a critical role in documenting cyber security policies, procedures, and authorization documentation across various network and operating environments. Key responsibilities include:
Education and Experience Requirements: This position requires a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with at least five years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education, experience, and certifications (e.g., SANS Training, CISSP, or other security certifications) will be considered. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
Knowledge and/or Training Requirements: Formal training or demonstrated knowledge of cyber security is mandatory. Strong technical computing expertise, including knowledge of security controls for networks, systems, databases, and enterprise applications, is required. Familiarity with system life cycle methodologies, risk management, and configuration management is essential. Experience with integrating new information technology into existing infrastructures is desired, along with knowledge of DOE/NNSA cyber security policies and their implementation.
