The Service Writer position is responsible for a high level of interaction as well as coordinating repair order scheduling and completion with the maintenance technicians, parts department, and other departments as needed.

The Service Writer position interacts with company drivers to liaise service needs, offer insight on services needed, and reference repair orders. The Service Writer position is responsible for a high level of interaction as well as coordinating repair order scheduling and completion with the maintenance technicians, parts department, and other departments as needed.
Roles & Responsibilities
Greet and interact with drivers as they come to the service window
Provide excellent customer service from intake to release of tractor/trailer
Listen / understand the needs of drivers
Initiate repair order(s) and schedule necessary services / repairs
Review repair request prior to scheduling for potential warranty
Oversee and manage the shop’s scheduling and workflow
Consult with technicians about services / repairs
Serve as the communicator and liaison between drivers and other departments (Operations, Safety, Maintenance, etc.)
Answer questions about service outcomes and provide status updates
Inform drivers of changes in service and/or when the tractor/trailer has been completed
Manage complaints and resolve grievances
Enter data into internal systems
Review and process any warranty payments/refunds in TMT
Maintain accuracy in repair orders, update ETOC as needed
Review, make needed changes and close repair orders while working closely with parts and shop managers to ensure repair orders are closed in a timely manner
Manage RO’s from local shop and service trucks from Complete Status to Closed Status
Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
High School Diploma (GED) or equivalent
Customer service experience
Service Writer / Service Advisor experience preferred
Job Type: Full-Time
Benefits:
Schedule: Monday to Friday(7:00 am - 6:00 pm)
Hourly Pay Range: $15 - $18 (depending on experience)
