Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments in a home care setting. Conducts evaluations of an individual's speech and language skills using applicable diagnostic materials and tools. Being a Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating, and counseling. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care completes required documentation to record assessment and progress. Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers to provide effective therapies. Ensures that treatment that is provided aligns with patient needs and is within the guidelines set by the payer. May direct support staff in assisting with treatment. Requires a master's degree in speech pathology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) - Atlanta Area School for the Deaf located in Clarkston, GA, is recruiting for a Aud/Speech Language Pathologist 1 who will serve for students who are deaf and hard-of-hearing. Under general supervision the Aud/Speech Language Pathologist 1 will report to the School- Level Superintendent. Duties include but are not limited to:   

    • Provide speech-language therapy services, including developing and implementing objectives on students’ Individual Education Plans
    • Assessment
    • Therapy service provision within the classroom as well as therapy room, and provision of written documentation regarding student progress quarterly and annually
    • Responsible for assessment and treatment of speech, language and communication, voice, fluency and other related disorders.   

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

    • Certified in Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs)
    • Experience working with students with varying degrees of ability levels
    • At least Three (3) years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
    • ASL proficiency at 3 or above as measured by the American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI)

    **Note: Applicants will be expected to exhibit the ability to communicate in American Sign Language (ASL) during the interview with an expectation of obtaining an ASL rating of 3 or above within three years from date of hire.
