Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments in a home care setting. Conducts evaluations of an individual's speech and language skills using applicable diagnostic materials and tools. Being a Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating, and counseling. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care completes required documentation to record assessment and progress. Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers to provide effective therapies. Ensures that treatment that is provided aligns with patient needs and is within the guidelines set by the payer. May direct support staff in assisting with treatment. Requires a master's degree in speech pathology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Requirements:

    • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or University
    • License to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the state of Texas
    • Experience in pediatrics required
    • Home health experience preferred
    • Feeding Experience
    • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
    • Must carry valid auto insurance and driver’s license.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide skilled speech therapy services in the home or daytime facility of patients 0-21 years of age, 2 or more times per week, in accordance with physician orders
    • Define patient’s degree and type of speech, language, voice, oral-motor, swallowing, feeding, auditory processing, and/or fluency impairment(s) by selecting and administering the most appropriate testing instruments
    • Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written diagnostic reports
    • In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, plan and evaluate team goals for each patient as well as advise, consult, and instruct team in specific speech therapy modalities and interventions
    • Plan for and modify care to meet goals of speech therapy interventions
    • Educate staff, caregivers, and patients by designing and delivering training, printed material/resources and in-service programs in accordance with a total speech therapy program
    • May provide supervision to Clinical Fellows of Speech Pathology and/or Speech-Language Pathology Assistants if you possess three or more years of experience
