Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments in a home care setting. Conducts evaluations of an individual's speech and language skills using applicable diagnostic materials and tools. Being a Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating, and counseling. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care completes required documentation to record assessment and progress. Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers to provide effective therapies. Ensures that treatment that is provided aligns with patient needs and is within the guidelines set by the payer. May direct support staff in assisting with treatment. Requires a master's degree in speech pathology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Duties:
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in individuals of children.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address speech and language goals.
- Provide therapy sessions to clients to improve their speech, language, and communication skills.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors and educators, to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Monitor and document client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Provide education and support to clients and their families on speech and language strategies.
