Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments in a home care setting. Conducts evaluations of an individual's speech and language skills using applicable diagnostic materials and tools. Being a Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating, and counseling. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care completes required documentation to record assessment and progress. Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers to provide effective therapies. Ensures that treatment that is provided aligns with patient needs and is within the guidelines set by the payer. May direct support staff in assisting with treatment. Requires a master's degree in speech pathology or equivalent. Requires ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and applicable State License to Practice. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Speech-Language Pathologist

    • Location: Eagle-Butte, SD

    Job Overview:

    As Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) you need to provide on-site contract support services at Cheyenne-Eagle Butte School. Responsibilities include delivering therapy to students identified or requiring speech/language services in a K-12 school with around 869 total students, including approximately 30 receiving speech-language support. Join us to make a positive impact on students' communication and academic success.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    · Provide comprehensive evaluation and therapy services to students at Cheyenne-Eagle Butte School, assessing individual speech and language needs and implementing therapy interventions.

    · Collaborate with the Special Education Director, School Supervisor, school staff, students, and parents to ensure effective communication and continuity of services.

    · Complete evaluations within state and federal timelines, prepare written reports, create Individual Education Plans (IEP), participate in IEP meetings, and implement goals/objectives identified in the IEP.

    · Maintain proper documentation and files related to evaluations and therapy sessions.

    · Provide on-site training to school staff and/or parents on relevant topics as requested by the Special Education Coordinator/School Supervisor.

    · Attend and participate in training and workshops requested by the Special Education Coordinator/School Supervisor, subject to schedule and availability.

    · May be required to participate in Extended School Year (ESY) if there is a determined need.

    Qualifications:

    · Possess a degree or equivalent in speech-language pathology, communication disorders, or a directly related field from an accredited college or university. Or, completed a speech-language pathology academic program recognized by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

    · Hold a full, current, and unrestricted speech-language pathology license in the state of South Dakota.

    · Proficiency in typing and computer skills for efficient documentation and communication.

    · Ability to work on-site approximately 3 days per week during school sessions and be available for consultation to ensure continuity of services.

    · Adhere to state and federal timelines for evaluation completion and IEP compliance (within 25 school days and 60 calendar days, respectively).
