Speech and Language Pathologist jobs in Columbus, GA

Speech and Language Pathologist assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments. Conducts evaluations of an individual's speech and language skills using applicable diagnostic materials and tools. Being a Speech and Language Pathologist develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating, and counseling. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathologist completes required documentation to record assessment and progress. Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers to provide effective therapies. May direct support staff in assisting with treatment. Requires a master's degree in speech pathology. Requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Speech and Language Pathologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     A Speech Language Pathologist is needed to work in both the  Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL locations.

    Our client is a physician-owned primary care group with two ABA and Speech Therapy clinics. They are seeking clinicians with a passion for working with children experiencing a variety of speech and language disorders, and other autism-related speech challenges. Services are provided at clinic locations in both Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL.

    Our Client provides their patients with friendly, individualized care and is known for their holistic approach to both patient care and work culture, seeing every individual as they are. They have been providing services to the East Alabama / Columbus GA area since 2007.

    Salary and Benefits:

    • The pay for this role is $35 per hour.

    Responsibilities:

    • Treat a variety of speech and language disorders including articulation, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing.
    • Administer diagnostic tests and interpret results to establish a plan of care for treatment.
    • Communicate findings to patients and families.
    • Collaborate with physicians and other providers to coordinate treatment and update plan of care as needed.
    • Submit evaluation reports, plan of care, monthly summaries, and progress notes in the designated system in a timely manner.
    • Provide compassionate care and counseling to patients and their families.

    Requirements:

    • Masters Degree in Communication Disorders
    • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
    • Minimum of 1 year experience as a speech therapist/SPL
    • Current AL and GA license (or willing to obtain, process takes 30 days)
    • Full-time, in person clinic
    • 8 hour shifts, clinic is open M-F
    • Experience working with autistic children.
