Speech and Language Pathologist jobs in Rockford, IL

Speech and Language Pathologist assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments. Conducts evaluations of an individual's speech and language skills using applicable diagnostic materials and tools. Being a Speech and Language Pathologist develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating, and counseling. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathologist completes required documentation to record assessment and progress. Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers to provide effective therapies. May direct support staff in assisting with treatment. Requires a master's degree in speech pathology. Requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Speech and Language Pathologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our educational team in a contract position within our school setting.
    As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in helping students overcome speech and language challenges, enabling them to communicate effectively and reach their full academic potential.

    • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
    • State licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
    • ASHA CCC
    • ISBE PEL (professional educator license)
    • Previous experience working with school-aged children is preferred.
    • Knowledge of various speech and language disorders and their treatment approaches.
    • Ability to conduct thorough evaluations and interpret assessment results.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with students, parents, and school staff.
    • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome communication challenges.

    Salary
    $60 - $65 per hour

    Job Type: Part-time
