Speech and Language Pathologist jobs in San Francisco, CA

Speech and Language Pathologist assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments. Conducts evaluations of an individual's speech and language skills using applicable diagnostic materials and tools. Being a Speech and Language Pathologist develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating, and counseling. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathologist completes required documentation to record assessment and progress. Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers to provide effective therapies. May direct support staff in assisting with treatment. Requires a master's degree in speech pathology. Requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Speech and Language Pathologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Responsibilities:

    • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate communication abilities and identify areas of strength and areas needing improvement for ages 0-3.
    • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, goals, and play-based practice tailored to the child’s specific needs.
    • Implement direct one-on-one therapy sessions using a variety of techniques and modalities to address speech, language, cognitive communication, and/or swallowing disorders.
    • Regularly monitor the child’s progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and provide ongoing support and encouragement.
    • Educate and train parents and caregivers on strategies and techniques to support their child's speech and language development at home and in daily routines.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, treatment sessions, and other relevant information.

    Requirements:

    • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility for clinical fellowship (CFY).
    • Active California License in Speech Pathology
    • 1 year pediatric experience

    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

    Pay: $55.00 - $80.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
