Speech and Language Pathologist - Nursing Home assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments in a nursing home or long term care setting. Conducts patient evaluation of speech and language skills using applicable diagnostic materials and tools. Being a Speech and Language Pathologist - Nursing Home develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating and counseling the patient. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathologist - Nursing Home documents assessment and patient progress. Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers. May direct support staff in assisting with treatment. Ensures that treatment aligns with patient needs and is within the parameters set by the payer. Requires a master's degree in speech pathology or equivalent. Requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and may require a state license. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Speech and Language Pathologist - Nursing Home's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. LEARN Speech Therapy is a private practice in Gilroy, CA offering speech therapy to both the Adult and Pediatric populations. We offer a range of Outpatient, Home Health. Sub-Acute Care opportunities to SLP's seeking an adult only population as well as clinic based outpatient therapy exclusive to the pediatric population. We are a unique setting as we have the ability to offer SLP's the opportunity to work with all ages or focus on the age range and/or disorders that are of particular interest. We have strong collaborative relationships with Neurologists, MD's, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists and ABA therapists.
