Speech and Language Pathologist - Nursing Home assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments in a nursing home or long term care setting. Conducts patient evaluation of speech and language skills using applicable diagnostic materials and tools. Being a Speech and Language Pathologist - Nursing Home develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating and counseling the patient. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathologist - Nursing Home documents assessment and patient progress. Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers. May direct support staff in assisting with treatment. Ensures that treatment aligns with patient needs and is within the parameters set by the payer. Requires a master's degree in speech pathology or equivalent. Requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and may require a state license. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Speech and Language Pathologist - Nursing Home's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. We have 4 openings in West Contra Costa for a dedicated Full-Time Speech Therapist to join a vibrant SLP team. Your caseload will be fun and diverse. You will evaluate patients and provide treatment in a clinical setting, home, and school setting. Clinical Fellows are absolutely welcome and will thrive here! Out-of-state applicants relocation assistance up to $3000 provided if eligible.
Responsibilities:- Provide evidence-based therapy plans, goals, and treatment for speech/language disorders.
- Evaluate and implement standardized tests for accurate diagnosis of communication disorders.
- Provide direct therapy.
- Write clinical SOAP notes.
- Attend and write IEPs.
- Provide supervision for a CF or SLPA if needed or as appropriate.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:- Licensed SLP and Clinical Fellows.
- Familiarity with communication disorders.
- Ability to build rapport with patients and clinical staff.
- Ability to build rapport with school teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills, commitment, and organizational skills.
