Speech and Language Pathology Director plans and directs the operations of an organization's audiology and speech therapy functions to ensure effective operation and compliance with regulatory standards. Designs policies and processes to ensure efficient service delivery and promote best practices. Being an Speech and Language Pathology Director develops and implements long-term strategic plans and objectives for audiology and speech therapy programs in alignment with the organization's overall objectives. Provides leadership and oversight to the development and expansion of programs or service offerings. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathology Director evaluates program design, assessment tools, and treatment protocols and researches advancements in the field. Develops and manages the budget to allocate resources to support staffing, equipment, and other program needs. Monitors operational and financial metrics to measure the achievement of organizational objectives. Negotiates and selects vendor proposals and manages vendors to maintain inventories and adhere to budgets. May require a master's degree in audiology or speech pathology. Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to senior management. The Speech and Language Pathology Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Speech and Language Pathology Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.   • Responsible to:  Speech and Language Pathologist Job Summary:The Student-Speech/Language Pathology is an unpaid student placement that a college student is completing to receive academic credit through their college/university.  This student is responsible for providing speech/language therapy to children and clients whose ability to function is impaired by congenital or developmental disability, physical illness or injury, as determined through examinations, evaluations, diagnosis, prognosis and interventions for the highest functional outcomes, under the direction of a licensed Speech/Language Pathologist.   Essential Job Duties:- Display thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of speech/language pathology.- Adhere to the standards of the clinical practices established by the American Speech- Hearing Association (ASHA).- Responsible for the evaluation of therapy needs.  Administer speech/language based standardized assessment tools and use clinical skills to determine therapeutic needs of clients. - Participate in the creation of treatment plans and revision of if necessary.- Conduct speech/language therapy as mandated on the Individualized Education Plan (IEP). - Collaborate with other team members or those individuals designated by the agency (e.g. family members, teachers, therapists, consumers, etc.) to facilitate comprehensive treatment.- Record on client charts all appropriate speech/language therapy evaluations, progress notes, consultations and discharge information.  This includes submission of daily notes, quarterly reports and annual reports as requested by the agency.   Essential Job Duties: (continued)-Document and complete all paperwork required by college/university to verify participation and completion of supervised experience.  Education: Minimum Degree Requirements:- High school diploma or GED- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a four year college or university and studying Speech/Language Pathology Communication Disorders Experience: None License/Registration/ Certification: None Training:– Training management packet Physical Requirements:- The constant physical demands of the position are standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, talking , listening , repetitive motions and eye/hand/foot coordination.  - The frequent physical demands of the position are sitting and walking.- The occasional physical demands of the position are lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, handling and grasping.
