Being an Speech and Language Pathology Director develops and implements long-term strategic plans and objectives for audiology and speech therapy programs in alignment with the organization's overall objectives. Provides leadership and oversight to the development and expansion of programs or service offerings. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathology Director evaluates program design, assessment tools, and treatment protocols and researches advancements in the field. Develops and manages the budget to allocate resources to support staffing, equipment, and other program needs. The Master of Speech-Language Pathology Program at St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa is seeking applicants to fill a 12-month tenure track position with a flexible start date. The ideal applicant would bring expertise in one or more of the following areas: AAC, Multiculturalism and/or Developmental Disorders of Language.
Duties include teaching three to four undergraduate and/or graduate courses per year, clinical supervision in areas of expertise, supervision of graduate scholarship and service to the departmental, college and university. There is a possibility of teaching across multiple forms of delivery based on expertise and interest. The university definition of scholarship is activities that lead to new knowledge or advance knowledge through the areas of application, discovery, integration or teaching that are shared with others.
Applicants must have earned a terminal doctoral degree (PhD, EdD) in Speech-Language Pathology or a related area; hold certification in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA CCC-SLP), and hold or be eligible for state licensure in Iowa. Applicants who are ABD will be considered.
