Job Description
Nevada State College (NSC) invites applications for the position of a Full-time Clinical Supervisor of Speech-Language Pathology. The primary purpose of this position includes training, supervision and education of student undergraduate and/or graduate clinicians by an ASHA certified and Nevada licensed speech-language pathologist. This position reports to the Clinic Director. Responsibilities include supervision of graduate students during their on-site clinical rotation, either at RiteCare Clinic and/or NSC's Speech Language Pathology clinic. The supervisor accepts full responsibility of the client's care plan under his/her licensure.
About the School of Education at NSC
Our School of Education (SOE) is an exciting place to be. More than 1,200 undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and graduate students are pursuing licensure programs in elementary, special, & secondary education, and speech-language pathology. As of Fall of 2021, the School of Education has moved into a brand new building, which includes a speech-language pathology clinic and an early childhood education center.
The Speech -Language Pathology housed in the School of Education is the first graduate program on the campus as of Fall 2019. We have clinical training at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Primary Responsibilities:

Teach full course load equivalency for clinic supervision and/or clinical courses Fall, Spring and Summer. This is primarily direct and indirect supervision of clinical practicum students at Nevada State College Speech & Language Clinic and at the NSC affiliated Scottish Rite Care clinic. Supervision includes instruction/support for the student's clinical development to integrate academic and clinical application

May include being a liaison supervisor of Externship settings.

Must demonstrate a professional clinical model representing the profession including but not limited to ASHA Code of Ethics, HIPAA Regulations, and Confidentiality Guidelines. Student office hours to be held weekly to ensure quality of services and the development of the students' clinical skills.
- Develop protocol for therapeutic and diagnostic services for client care in conjunction with the practicum student, within the Scope of Practice in Speech Language Pathology as described by the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Assume responsibility for all written and verbal reports, conferences and other client related and student interactions as well as the clinical documentation using the clinic's EMR system and student evaluation system.
- An integral part of the clinical team participating in Staff/Department Meetings, College Events.
- Support clinical teaching by providing in-services to students and staffing.
- Stay current in the field of Speech, Language Pathology maintaining licensure and evidence based practice protocol, including training on supervision skills.

Serve on NSC committees
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in speech-language pathology and hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Nevada license to practice Speech Language Pathology by start of position
- Previous experience supervising student clinicians and/or Clinical Fellows (CF)
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (NSC does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience evaluating and treating children and/or adults with speech, language and swallowing disorders.
- Clinical experience in a variety of work settings, including children and adults.
- A desire to work with diverse, first generation and non-traditional students and
- A strong interest in contributing to the development of a new speech-language pathology clinic and community clinic.
- Collaboration skills and experience.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Rank, Salary & Benefits:
Rank (non-tenure track). 12 month. Budgeted salary for this position is $64,000. Nevada State College offers excellent benefits, including 15.50% retirement match, beginning balance of 30 sick leave days, 11 paid holidays, educational benefits, and three health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts.
