Speech and Language Pathology Director plans and directs the operations of an organization's audiology and speech therapy functions to ensure effective operation and compliance with regulatory standards. Designs policies and processes to ensure efficient service delivery and promote best practices. Being an Speech and Language Pathology Director develops and implements long-term strategic plans and objectives for audiology and speech therapy programs in alignment with the organization's overall objectives. Provides leadership and oversight to the development and expansion of programs or service offerings. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathology Director evaluates program design, assessment tools, and treatment protocols and researches advancements in the field. Develops and manages the budget to allocate resources to support staffing, equipment, and other program needs. Monitors operational and financial metrics to measure the achievement of organizational objectives. Negotiates and selects vendor proposals and manages vendors to maintain inventories and adhere to budgets. May require a master's degree in audiology or speech pathology. Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to senior management. The Speech and Language Pathology Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Speech and Language Pathology Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. We have an exciting opportunity for a Speech Language Pathology CFY, in which you will gain hands-on experience evaluating and providing treatment for students with multiple disabilities and disorders in communication and swallowing.
Schedule: Part-Time, 2 days per week from 8:30-3:30
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications):- Must be participating in a speech-language pathology program and eligible for CFY
- Previous experience teaching individuals with speech and learning disabilities is a plus
- Basic computer skills and ability to speak, read, and write in English
What You’ll Do in the Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellowship (Responsibilities):
Under the direction of a Licensed Speech Pathologist:- Evaluate and provide treatment for students with multiple disabilities and disorders in communication and swallowing
- Provide services in a flexible manner either pulling students out or pushing into classroom activities depending on the unique needs of each student and the classroom
- Consult with classroom and residential staff regarding the implementation of speech, language and feeding goals
- Collaborate with all team members to consider physical, sensory, motor and behavioral needs of each student
- Develop and implement the best method of alternative and augmentative communication systems including PECS, speech generating devices, sign and tactile systems.
- Determine diet consistencies and safe feeding practices
- Develop appropriate goals and objectives for each student‘s IEP
- Attend classroom team meetings, CSE meetings, and residential meetings as needed
- Conduct annual and triennial re-evaluations as needed
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Pay: $30 - $35 / hour, based on experience.
