Speech and Language Pathology Director plans and directs the operations of an organization's audiology and speech therapy functions to ensure effective operation and compliance with regulatory standards. Designs policies and processes to ensure efficient service delivery and promote best practices. Being an Speech and Language Pathology Director develops and implements long-term strategic plans and objectives for audiology and speech therapy programs in alignment with the organization's overall objectives. Provides leadership and oversight to the development and expansion of programs or service offerings. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathology Director evaluates program design, assessment tools, and treatment protocols and researches advancements in the field. Develops and manages the budget to allocate resources to support staffing, equipment, and other program needs. Monitors operational and financial metrics to measure the achievement of organizational objectives. Negotiates and selects vendor proposals and manages vendors to maintain inventories and adhere to budgets. May require a master's degree in audiology or speech pathology. Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to senior management. The Speech and Language Pathology Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Speech and Language Pathology Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Full-time - Speech Therapist to provide speech therapy services at our Sunshine Residential and Vocational Programs.

    • Diagnoses and evaluates speech and language skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors upon referral from IP team.
    • Participates in developing IPs as a member of a comprehensive evaluation team.
    • Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication problems of organic and nonorganic etiology.
    • Provides ongoing consultation to Family Care Home Staff regarding communication programs and assists in development of communication programs.
    • Reviews individual file to obtain background information prior to evaluation to determine appropriate tests and to ensure that adequate information is available.
    • Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
    • Evaluates and monitors individuals.
    • Reviews treatment plan, and assesses individual performance to modify, change, or write new programs.
    • Maintains records as required by law, establishment's policy, and administrative regulations.
    • Attends meetings and conferences and participates in other activities to promote professional growth.
    • Provides in services to staff regarding speech language development, deficits and remediation.
    • Provides sign language training to staff, volunteers and families as needed.
    • Assists with pursuit of augmentative communication devises as needed.


    Qualifications

    • Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology with certification of clinical competence (CCC-SLP)
    • License in the State of Ohio in Speech Pathology
    • Prior experience working with Individuals with Autism preferred
    • Valid Driver’s License, good driving record and auto insurance
    • Able to pass criminal background, drug screen and physical
