Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor manages the daily operations of an organization's audiology and speech therapy functions. Plans and develops speech therapy programs and evaluates program objectives and results to determine effectiveness. Being an Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor reviews assessment findings, treatment plans, and progress notes to ensure compliance with professional standards and regulations. Monitors inventories and supplies and tracks spending to ensure adherence to departmental budgets. Additionally, Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor implements operational procedures to ensure effective care, promote best practices, and facilitate efficient workflow. Provides professional guidance and oversight to resolve complex cases or issues. Recruits, hires, and manages staff and designs and leads development and training activities. May require a master's degree in audiology or speech pathology. Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a director. The Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Summary

    The primary responsibilities of the Speech Language Pathologist is to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children.

    SLP Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate and treat children from birth to age 21 for speech, language, oral motor, feeding, voice, fluency, articulation, or social communication disorders to achieve highest level of functioning and prevent regression.
    • Work closely with patients caregivers and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
    • Accurately document treatment sessions as well as progress or evaluation reports in detail.
    • Maintains professional/technical competencies and proficiencies for job responsibilities and upholds federal/state licensure and ethical expectations.

    • Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology and hold an applicable and current, unrestricted license to practice (or in the process of obtaining license). New Grads welcome!
    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
