    Location: Anaheim, CA. Staff are currently working a hybrid schedule, with three days in-person and two days remote. Requires some travel throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area (vehicle and driver's license required).

    Term: Full-time, occasional evening and weekends required

    Position Status: Exempt

    Pay Range: $110,00 - $140,000/annual, commensurate with skills and experience.

    Reports to: Executive Director

    Position Summary: CAIR-LA is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as our Programs Director. This senior leadership position will oversee the Special Projects, Programs, and Communications team, playing a pivotal role in advancing CAIR's mission and promoting the civil rights and well-being of the American-Muslim community in the Greater Los Angeles Area. The successful candidate will provide strategic guidance, fundraising managerial oversight, and effective coordination to ensure the success of the organization's initiatives.


    Responsibilities:

    Leadership and Management:

    • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Special Projects, Programs, and Communications team.
    • Oversee and guide the work of department directors and managers, ensuring alignment with CAIR's mission and goals.
    • Oversee, maintain, and support the development of all institutional fundraising initiatives and contracts with government and philanthropic partners.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive work plans, objectives, and performance metrics for the respective programs.
    • Provide support during the hiring process, budget development, and fundraising initiatives.
    • Attend conferences, events, meetings, and other gatherings as a representative of CAIR-LA and CAIR-CA's leadership team.

    Special Projects:

    • Foster strategic partnerships and collaborations to increase funding and resources for special projects with the legal, programs, policy, organizing, outreach, and communications departments.
    • Ensure successful planning, capacity building, implementation, and evaluation of projects, adhering to strategic goals, timelines, and budgetary considerations.
    • Direct and develop special projects undertaken by CAIR, including community engagement initiatives, campaigns, reports, research endeavors, and collaborative efforts with partner organizations.
    • Direct and oversee CAIR-LA's grant writing team.
    • Direct financial oversight of all grants including the expensing and invoicing of grants and contracts in coordination with the operations and accounting teams.

    Programs:

    • Direct and support the effective functioning of CAIR's programs, ensuring high-quality service delivery and impactful outcomes.
    • Provide guidance to programs manager in developing, implementing, and evaluating program activities.
    • Support fundraising, resource allocation. and budget management to ensure community needs and program deliverables are met.
    • Maintain strategic relationships with government officials, funders, and key community stakeholders.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (advanced degree preferred).
    • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in program management, advocacy, or related fields.
    • At least five years of experience managing a team in the nonprofit, government, legal, or related field.
    • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and mentor a large diverse team.
    • Strong knowledge of civil rights issues, particularly those affecting the American-Muslim community.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and media engagement.
    • Experience managing digital and print content creation, including some understanding of graphic design, layout, and publishing.
    • Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing.
    • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, project management, and budget oversight.
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including community members, partner organizations, and policymakers.
    • Passion for social justice, civil liberties, and promoting equality and inclusivity.
    • Proficiency in utilizing digital communication tools, social media platforms, and content management systems.
    • Knowledge of relevant applications such as SharePoint, Office365, OneDrive, and case management software is preferred.
    • Access to reliable transportation to attend meetings and events in various Southern California cities.

    Compensation:

    • Compensation in the range of $110,000 - $140,000/annually, commensurate with experience
    • Fully paid Kaiser Health Insurance and Blue Cross PPO Dental Plan for employee and dependents
    • 3% retirement matching contribution
    • 10 paid holidays, 10 sick days, and 12 vacation days
