To be a Sponsored Programs Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     We are an inner city ministry that lives and works in the neighborhoods we serve. Our mission exists to build relationships with our neighbors and share hope in brokenness. We target neighborhoods that are underserved. We have a staff size of about 45 where we have after school programs, sports performance center, houses for women in sex trafficking, men and women transitional homes, two coffee shops, screen printing, and other forms of ministry to love our neighbors. 

     

    Position Summary:

    The BLOC Youth Director will lead, shape and create the Youth Services for BLOC Ministries.  This position will be responsible for creating ways to support the local school districts and maintaining relationships with Diversion Court and Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center. 


    Primary responsibilities:

    • .Provide continuity through planning, team meetings, and training applicable for youth services. Align the goals and visions of Youth Services to each program. 
    • Training that is applicable to all of youth can be developed or administered. 
    • Initiatives that are one out of guidance of the Holy Spirit and that bless our direct neighbors,  neighborhood and city. Create goals for each team and help them to achieve them. 
    • Have the ability to create a 3 and 5 year plan.
    • Meet with city and neighborhood officials in regards to youth initiatives. 
    • Empower and equip leaders through weekly one on one and team meetings. Spiritual depth and care as well as professional development are essential. Our “doing” should never outpace our “being”. 
    • Report weekly with the Director of Operations and take part in BLOC 7 meetings. 
    • Raise funding for programs when necessary. Become aware of existing relationships and potential donors. 
    • Create and maintain partnerships that are beneficial to the ministry and programs. 
    • Attend weekly staff meetings and support raising meetings. 
    • Recruit and develop staff and interns. 
    • Make connections with universities/churches/etc. for needs for programs. 
    • Support-raise personal salary that is agreed upon by Human Resources and Direct Supervisor. 

     

    Requirements:

    • Create a weekly rhythm of sabbath and self care. 
    • Go through BLOC onboarding training and become aware of BLOC culture and mission. 
    • Set personal support raising goals and attend SRS training. 
    • Create relationships and trust with existing staff and directors. 
    • Have closer proximity to Afterschool programming to ensure health and development of leaders.
