OVERVIEW
The Centro Binacional para el Desarrollo Indígena Oaxaqueño (CBDIO) was created in 1993 by the Frente Indígena de Organizaciones Binacionales (FIOB) to serve the indigenous immigrant communities from Mexico that reside in California. Since its foundation as a non-profit entity, CBDIO has been dedicated to implementing projects on worker’s rights, education, and health access, providing orientation, training, counseling, and referrals.
JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Programs is responsible for the successful oversight and completion of CBDIO’s grant funded programs. This includes researching, planning, and implementing assigned programs while allocating the appropriate resources to reach the goals, objectives, and deliverables of each grant funded program. This position is a key part of the management team. Actively participates in organizational-wide policy decisions, strategic planning, and represents CBDIO’s mission and vision.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES
Responsible for supervision of assigned, staff, interns, performance management and other personnel processes, including, but not limited to, hiring, setting individual goals and objectives, providing guidance, training, direction, corrective action, and separations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plan and direct programs from start to completion including meeting deadlines, milestones, and program objectives. Initiate and set program goals. Verify programs are culturally and linguistic appropriate and meet the needs of the Indigenous community.
Ensure all grant funded requirements are met and budgets are maintained. Confirm expenses are in accordance with each program’s guidelines.
Provide leadership, training, support, continual mentorship, guidance and coaching to staff. Communicate project changes and updates in a timely manner. Monitor challenges and provide resolutions.
Ensure programs are appropriately staffed and support onboarding activities and program training.
Conduct yearly performance evaluations and provide regular feedback and guidance to staff.
Participate in weekly team meetings and provide appropriate guidance, recommendations, and solutions to ensure efficient program operations.
Coordinate and facilitate weekly or bi- weekly meetings with coordinators to provide mentorship, direction, and to ensure coordination among the different office locations .
Compile data and support writing quarterly and year end reports for funders.
Represent CBDIO in statewide campaigns to ensure our goals are met.
Meet with funders, community organizations and collaborative agencies to promote CBDIO and develop potential and continued partnerships.
Participate in community campaigns, and schedule events to ensure community and staff involvement.
Develop and review program budgets and operational costs. Provide reconciliation and back up for all bank card charges.
Collaborate with management team in preparing and responding to grant applications.
Ensure coordinators and staff are conducting community meetings following CBDIO guidelines, values, and goals.
Analyze future needs and provide strategic support to Executive Director.
Contribute towards fundraising efforts and coalition building.
Attend meetings on behalf of Executive Director and represent CBDIO.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Sociology, or related field preferred. Work experience may substitute education on a year-by-year basis.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of four (4) years of experience working with grant funded programs and successfully leading a team. Preferably in nonprofit, community-based organization, or closely related field.
Demonstrated experience supervising and leading a team strongly preferred
Demonstrated experience in social and/or racial justice strongly preferred.
ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES
Fluently Bilingual (Spanish and English) or Trilingual (Indigenous language, Spanish and English).
Established community connections within Indigenous community strongly preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite, and use of technology.
Uphold a high level of integrity, objectivity, and confidentiality.
Travel for company business using personal transportation.
Maintain a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and adequate auto insurance as required by State law.
Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position.
