Sponsored Programs Director directs and oversees externally funded programs for a university/college such as research programs and scholarship programs. The Sponsored Programs Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. To be a Sponsored Programs Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Programs Educator (bilingual English/Spanish)

    The Museum of Idaho (MOI) is a nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire wonder and discovery about Idaho and our world through science and the humanities. Under the direction of the Managing Director, the Programs Educator is responsible for creating and facilitating a variety of interactive, curriculum-focused programming in both English and Spanish. This position will focus primarily on programming geared towards school-aged children, but will also include some programming geared toward adults, including educators. This position offers plenty of opportunity for flexibility and creativity, as well as advancement within the organization.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Participate in the strategy and creation of select programs offered at MOI
    • Support, teach, and co-teach select programs
    • Coordinate logistics and ensure successful execution of select programs
    • Assist with intern/volunteer supervision, training, and schedule coordination where applicable
    • Work with educational community partners to facilitate use of the MOI as a curriculum resource
    • Assist in maintaining a calendar of museum educational programs and communicate with the MOI Marketing Department regarding timely advertisement of those programs in English and Spanish as appropriate
    • Coordinate survey distribution/collection to each program participant
    • Track program expenses

    Requirements and qualifications:

    • Native or near-native fluency in both English and Spanish
    • Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver, and evaluate educational programs
    • Ability to connect with and teach a variety of audiences
    • Excellent organizational skills, follow-through, and attention to detail
    • Ability to work on multiple programs and deadlines simultaneously
    • Demonstrable ability to work and start tasks independently
    • Excellent English written communication skills and English and Spanish oral communication skills.
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within and beyond the institution (including strong customer service skills; ability to engage with people of all ages and backgrounds)
    • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience in Education or related field

    Pay, benefits, and schedule

    • Starting salary: $42,000 – 45,000
    • Benefits include simple IRA employer match, health insurance, dental insurance, and generous PTO
    • Full-time position
    • Regular schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 9am-6pm with a one-hour, unpaid lunch break. This schedule is negotiable and flexible upon supervisor approval.
