The Role
Development and Implementation of Scholarship Program:
The Director of High School Programs will oversee the comprehensive execution of the scholarship program. Responsibilities include organizing the program timeline, developing a robust curriculum, and ensuring its effective implementation. This role involves guiding a cohort of 10 students through the college application process, offering support in crafting compelling personal statements and resumes, assisting in creating college lists, navigating applications, federal financial aid procedures, and aiding in scholarship applications. Additionally, this position involves providing guidance to students and families in identifying their ideal educational institutions.
Serve as Scholarship Program Liaison, Champion, and Support Fundraising Efforts:
The Director of High School Programs will manage relationships with donors connected to the scholarship program. This involves attending relevant events and assisting the Executive Director in fundraising endeavors for the program.
Innovation and Strategy: Ability to think innovatively and strategically to establish and grow a scholarship program.
Data Tracking and Analysis: Proficiency in accurately monitoring student progress towards predefined outcomes and adapting programming to effectively steer students towards their goals. Additionally, the ability to communicate scholarship progress to donors is crucial.
Community Engagement and Partnership Development: Building strategic partnerships and fostering relationships with high schools, universities, and community organizations to advance the organization's mission. Ability to engage the community, including stakeholders, students, families, and educational institutions.
Budgeting: Demonstrated capability in managing a substantial budget.
Promotion and Outreach: Creating awareness about the scholarship program and actively promoting it within the target audience or community. This involves marketing the program to potential applicants, donors, and partners.
